The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), a branch of the U.S. Department of Labor, requires that institutions contracted with the federal government actively reach out to diverse applicants. OFCCP mandates that federal contractors must consider hiring qualified applicants regardless of “race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin” (§ 60-1.4).
