OFCCP Compliance
HERC’s annual inclusive outreach campaigns help your member institution demonstrate good faith affirmative action efforts, including outreach, should your institution be audited by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).
The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), a branch of the U.S. Department of Labor, requires that institutions contracted with the federal government actively reach out to diverse applicants. OFCCP mandates that federal contractors must consider hiring qualified applicants regardless of “race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin” (§ 60-1.4). As universities often administer government research grants, OFCCP regulations cover many higher education institutions.
Should your institution be audited by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, HERC can help you demonstrate good faith affirmative action efforts. HERC supports OFCCP compliance by:
- Reaching out to diverse job seekers through conferences and advertising. We represent our membership at in-person and virtual academic conferences across the country. HERC staff frequently attends the national gatherings of diverse professionals—promoting your institution and open positions.
