Please join us for a Lunch and Connect online gathering on January 17th, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. This event provides an excellent opportunity for us to gather and reestablish connections within the the newly formed NW and formerly known as Greater Washington region of HERC.
We are delighted to have Dr. Paul Buckley, VP and Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, and a long time NW (GWS) Advisory Board member, join us to provide an insightful overview of Fred Hutchinson's DEI strategy in workforce recruitment. At his institution, Dr. Buckley is engaged in anti-racist DEI work to transform organizational culture and structure for the benefit of patients, researchers, clinicians, staff, and administrators. Since beginning of his work at Fred Hutch in February 2020, he has laid a deep foundation for sustainable change in academic healthcare, inclusive excellence in cancer research and treatment, and workplace culture. And Prior to his current role, Dr. Buckley navigated an impactful career in Higher Education, spanning twenty-five years of service and innovation in several areas including access and retention, multicultural affairs, diversity education, personal and organizational leadership development, mentorship, community engagement, and men’s identity development.
GWS HERC is planning a series of upcoming sessions with the goal of strengthening connections among our Northwest community members and exploring the unfolding initiatives in recruiting practices across the great Northwest.
