The Upper Midwest Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (UMW HERC), established in 2008, represents over 55 colleges and universities in Minnesota and Wisconsin that are committed to enhancing diversity and dual career hiring. Through its collective website, national and regional marketing initiatives, diversity partnerships, networking forums, and discount services, UMW HERC has become the premier higher education recruitment resource for the region. The UMW HERC is governed by an advisory board drawn from the member institutions in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and western Wisconsin. Minnesota State Colleges and Universities is the lead partner supporting the Upper Midwest HERC.

The Upper Midwest HERC is a self-governing consortium, with each member institution playing a role in making decisions and shaping its future.
