  • Welcome two new regional directors: Connie Castellucci and Leslie Taylor!

Please extend a warm welcome to our two newest regional directors,  Connie  Castellucci (Greater Chicago) and Leslie Taylor (Northern California)! Connie and Leslie both shared an overview of their careers, as well as why working with HERC sparked their interests:

Connie Castellucci joined HERC as the Director of the Greater Chicago Midwest region this month. She is a long time member of the DePaul University community, earning both a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Master in Science in Market Analytics from DePaul. Additionally, Connie served as a research analyst in DePaul's division of Enrollment Marketing Management in the Institutional Research and Market Analytics department. There, she worked closely with several divisions to better understand the admission trends of the university and other marketing matters related to student populations.

Having worked in the Chicago-land area her entire career, Connie has also worked for the Illinois Housing Development Authority, Tribune Media Group, and Resurrection College Prep, the largest all-girls high school on the North side of Chicago. She has worked in various marketing roles including analytics, sales, and recruitment, and has presented research projects on statistical findings of various marketing trends in each industry.

    What drew Connie to HERC:

"Working in higher education in the past, I was familiar with HERC and have had some colleagues utilize its job board to pursue new careers in higher education. When I found the regional director position, I knew this role would be a great fit, given my history of recruitment and passion for working with colleges and universities. I am excited to continue the work I have done in the past to aid under-represented groups in a new way, and I look forward to promoting the diversity and inclusion of various groups through HERC's connections. Working in higher education was a great experience for me, and I look forward to playing a part in helping others discover the exciting career opportunities in higher education."

The Rev. Dr. Leslie Carole Taylor serves as the Director of the Northern California Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (NorCal HERC), and is a Coach in Training with Coaching 4 Clergy/Coaching 4 Today’s Leaders. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Grinnell College (Grinnell, IA), her Master of Divinity from Chicago Theological Seminary, and her Doctor of Ministry from Methodist Theological School in Ohio.

Prior to joining NorCal HERC, Leslie served as the Co-Director of Admissions, Events and Recruitment at Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA. Before moving to California in July 2015, Leslie served as the Director of Student Services and the United Church of Christ and Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Minister-in-Residence at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio.  Among her responsibilities as Director of Student Services, Leslie was the Disabilities Services Coordinator, International Student Services Officer, and worked with every aspect of student life from housing and health insurance to intercultural competency and student groups.

    What drew Leslie to HERC:

"I first became aware of HERC as a job seeker, when I was looking for a position in higher education in California as I was preparing to move from Ohio. I found the job seeker resources on HERC to be valuable and HERC was helpful as I sought and secured a position. When I began looking for another job, I turned to HERC again. I share HERC's passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion of historically under-represented groups in higher education—in both faculty and staff positions. I believe students need to see themselves reflected in the faculty and staff with whom they learn. When I was made aware of this position, I jumped at the chance to share my gifts with this amazing agency. HERC does so much more than I realized and I am excited to be a part of this incredible team of people!"
