Torrion Amie is the Dean of Student Services, Equity and Inclusion at Hennepin Technical College, and adjunct faculty in the College of Business and Technology at North Central University. His career in K12 and higher education spans over 25 years. He’s won awards at the state and national level for his efforts in academics, arts, athletics and hiring. Some include a 2021 University of Wisconsin-River Falls Hall of Fame induction for coaching, 2018 UW-River Falls Outstanding Alumni, 2018 Innovative Partnering & Collaboration Award from Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, and the 2013 & 2014 President’s Cabinet Achievement Award, from Normandale Community College.
Mr. Amie is also an entrepreneur. He’s a national speaker and leadership trainer, a marketing/ sales executive with the MN Spokesman-Recorder, a licensed realtor and the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Coordinator for REMAX Results. He holds certifications as a Strengths Coach, Poverty Coach, and Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Qualified Administrator. He is a published co-author of the workbooks Passport to College Success.
Torrion is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Minnesota Graduate School of Theology. He earned a Master of Education degree in kinesiology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, and an Associate degree from Normandale Community College.
