The South Midwest HERC (formally known as the Greater Missouri HERC , est. 2007 & Greater Texas HERC , est. 2011) is a collaborative response of member institutions to the many challenges of academic recruitment and retention. The South Midwest HERC is composed of a diverse group of public and private colleges and universities, medical schools, world-class teaching hospitals and research centers and is comprised of Texas, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Lousiana, and southern Illinois. The University of Houston is the lead partner instituion for South Midwest HERC.
The South Midwest HERC provides a dual career network of colleagues from member institutions to exchange CVs/resumes of partners and spouses to help them identify available positions and assist them during the job search process.
South Midwest HERC members can connect directly with colleagues from member institutions by using the member directory, as well as access resources and information in our dual career community.

South Midwest HERC Advisory Board is a self-governing consortium, with each member institution able to play a role in making decisions and shaping its future. An Advisory Board drawn from member institutions provides policy and operational oversight.
