Digital Attacks on Diverse Populations and Institutional Inclusion

Students today know no boundaries between digital life and “real life.” As the influence of social media and technical capabilities continually escalate, parties look to exploit weaknesses in higher ed capabilities and knowledge to disrupt and attack campuses. How do these attackers — people both on campus and across the world — organize and operate? How can you — as diversity, equity inclusion professionals; communications staff; IT workers; law enforcement officials; and administrators — coordinate your efforts to combat these attempts to disrupt campus activity, sew division among vulnerable populations and incite physical violence? This presentation will cover common tactics used in attacks and discuss strategies and best practices to combat them.
